Bob has been with us since February 2019 and is based in the acoustic guitar and folk instrument department, but in his free time can be found playing electric guitar with local bands The Reggie Mental Band and The Rest.
Each pedal has its own purpose and can be used in a wide variety of ways.
I have tried a variety of equipment over the years ranging from 100 watt valve amplifiers to digital modelling amps. I have currently settled on using small combo amps like the Fender Blues Junior on the edge of clean, with a variety of different boost/overdrive pedals to lift it in stages closer to and over the clean headroom threshold. Each pedal has its own purpose and can be used in a wide variety of ways but currently on my board I use the Ibanez TS9 for its mid boost quality, Thorpy FX The Dane for a mild transparent overdrive and clean boost and Thorpy FX Gunshot to achieve a moderately saturated overdrive bordering on distortion. Next up are the Boss BF3 Flanger and CE5 for a variety of modulation purposes. Each can be used as a subtle enhancement or you can drown in their intense lusciousness.
I will use a Fender Strat for more mid focused low gain rhythm situations or the Godin Stadium 59 T-type, for more cutting lead parts.
I have a Boss DD7 which i will either use as a typical 1/4 note echo, or as an immediate single note repeat inspired by Matt Schofield to add strength to a note. Then depending on how hard i want to push the amp I will use a Fender Strat for more mid focused low gain rhythm situations or the Godin Stadium 59 T-type, for more cutting lead parts.
Bob is full time and is normally off on a Friday.
